A Different Way of Training
At Ravenwood K9 Kennels Training Centre your dogs safety is our number one concern. We do not train with the use of treats as this creates a dependency on them. In a real world scenario a treat will not save your dogs life, but love and respect for you and your commands will. Here at Ravenwood K9 we train with Balanced, Praise Based Training. We use physical touch and verbal praise to reward our dogs when they do well. This builds respect between you and your dog, instead of bribing, which creates respect for the treat bag, not you. Respect and Trust go hand in hand.
We strive to give both dog and handler the best relationship possible without the use of bribes (treats) or using equipment such as the prong collar.
Our trainers are focused and have a tremendous depth of knowledge in both training and behavioural issues. We teach so much more than just sit and stay.
We offer Private and Group classes, Problem Behaviour Solutions, Canine Obedience from puppies to senior dogs of all breeds and sizes at our Ravenwood K9 Kennels Training Centre, as well as Distraction Training in Real World Settings.
We also offer Out Calls if you are experiencing problems with your dog in your house, your yard or on your daily neighbourhood walks. Whatever your needs we’ve got you covered.
A Different Kind of Daycare
At Ravenwood K9 Kennels our daycare runs from Monday to Friday both 1/2 day and full day. Our groups are small and we have a lower ratio of dogs to staff than some daycares. We put emphasis on training even while at daycare such as sitting and waiting at doors and proper leash walking out to play in the field. We closely monitor group play and work on proper socialization skills with the dogs while they are here.
We are closed between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Monday to Friday and the dogs take their break from 12;00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. when they are fed lunch and have time to relax. We bring them in for some down time before they are picked up to go home to give them time to relax and unwind.
One hour training sessions are available for your dog while they are at daycare with our Head Trainer. If you are
interested in training for your dog while at daycare we can discuss what you would like worked on as well as cost.

Holly Holmes is the owner of Ravenwood K9 Kennels and has a deep love for all dogs. She is a certified dog trainer through Canada West Canine Centre, B.C. Holly and her dog Takoda welcome your special canine(s) and work together to ensure they enjoy their time spent at our facility.
